Tomorrow, September 4th , we will have parent teacher conference from 4 - 6 pm here at Marlboro County High School. The jv and varsity volleyball team will be in action @ 5:30 tomorrow home verses Waccamaw and they will travel to Aynor on Thursday for a 5:30 match. Our jv football team will host Scotland County on Thursday @ 6:30 and our varsity Bulldogs will travel to Laurinburg on Friday to face Scotland County @ 7:30. Please come out and support our student athletes. Go Bulldogs!

Dear parents, please join us tonight at Marlboro County High School in the media center @ 5:30 for our Title One Parent Meeting. Also, tomorrow our varsity bulldogs will travel to Santee for our opening season game against Lake Marion. Tickets can be purchased online. In addition, our JV football team will play in a jamboree this coming Saturday morning at 10am. Admission price for the jamboree is $5. Please come out and support our bulldogs.

Dear parents, staff and students, this is Principal David Johnson and I want to say thank you for an awesome start to the 24/25 school year! As we begin our first full week, I want to remind our students of the dress code policy. Those students that are not in compliance with the dress code will not be allowed to stay at school if it can't be corrected. Parents, you will receive a phone call from the school to pick up your child. Also, please be reminded that school starts at 8:30 am. We need our students at school on time ready for instruction. The drop-off area for car riders is in the front of the school and not in the bus and student parking lot. Please reframe from dropping students off in those areas. The success of Marlboro County High School depends on the partnership that we forge now with our students, parents, and community. Good evening, parents, students and staff, welcome back to the start of the 2024-25 school year. We pray that you had a restful and enjoyable summer. We are excited to announce that the high school will be open tomorrow, July 24th, for grade level orientation and registration. Sophomore class 8:30am - 10:00am, Junior class 10:30am - 12:00pm, Senior class 1:00pm-3:00pm, & Freshman class 5:00pm - 7:00pm. We will also have open house on July31st from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Principal Johnson and the leadership team at Marlboro County High School have worked hard this summer to ensure that the building and schedules are ready for the first day of school. This message is to address recent promotion and retention concerns. If your child received a report card which states retained, this means they are currently off track for graduation and did not meet the board approved promotion requirements. Please review your child's report card and contact your child's counselor to discuss options for remediation, additional questions and concerns. A follow-up detailed letter will be shared.
It is our goal to ensure all students are on track and making adequate progress towards graduation.

Good evening parents, staff, and students, this is Principal Johnson with this week's upcoming events. Students that haven't taken their state EOC, makeup testing will be Tuesday and Wednesday this week. All other assignments and attendance that haven't been completed or submitted to teachers, please do no later than Wednesday. Activity day that will include staff versus student's kickball and softball homerun derby will be Wednesday, May 29th at the baseball/softball complex. Students dress cool but in school appropriate attire. Students will be allowed to bring beach towels, hats, and shades. Each grade level will be allotted 2hrs at the baseball/softball complex throughout the day. Seniors, yard signs can be picked up in the media center Tuesday morning beginning at 9am. Please make sure you sign in with Ms. Heyward or Mrs. Irby-Williams. Thursday, May 30th is mandatory graduation practice starting at 8:00am. Thursday the 30th is also the last day for students, which will be a half day with dismissal at 11:30am. Friday, May 31st mandatory graduation practice at 8:00am, our final practice before the class of 2024 big day. Graduation will be held at McAlpine Stadium, Saturday morning, June 1st at 8:00am. Congratulations to our seniors and to the parents of those of those that are graduating.

The Biology 1 EOC exam will be administered Monday, May 20th promptly starting at 9:00 AM. On Tuesday, May 21st we will administer the Algebra 1 EOC exam promptly starting at 9:00 AM. Makeup EOC exams will be administered for the remainder of the week. These assessments are a crucial milestone in evaluating our students' proficiency in these mandated state tested subject area. Underclassman exams 1st and 3rd period will be Thursday May 23rd & 2nd and 4th period exams will be Friday, May 24th. Seniors be ready for activities this week: Monday-College Decision, Tuesday-Senior Success Walk, Wednesday-Senior Breakfast, Thursday-Senior Awards/CTE Completers Ceremony. The issues concerning the underground pipes have been resolved and we will return to school tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24th.
