Good evening parents, staff, and students, this is Principal Johnson with this week's upcoming events. Students that haven't taken their state EOC, makeup testing will be Tuesday and Wednesday this week. All other assignments and attendance that haven't been completed or submitted to teachers, please do no later than Wednesday. Activity day that will include staff versus student's kickball and softball homerun derby will be Wednesday, May 29th at the baseball/softball complex. Students dress cool but in school appropriate attire. Students will be allowed to bring beach towels, hats, and shades. Each grade level will be allotted 2hrs at the baseball/softball complex throughout the day. Seniors, yard signs can be picked up in the media center Tuesday morning beginning at 9am. Please make sure you sign in with Ms. Heyward or Mrs. Irby-Williams. Thursday, May 30th is mandatory graduation practice starting at 8:00am. Thursday the 30th is also the last day for students, which will be a half day with dismissal at 11:30am. Friday, May 31st mandatory graduation practice at 8:00am, our final practice before the class of 2024 big day. Graduation will be held at McAlpine Stadium, Saturday morning, June 1st at 8:00am. Congratulations to our seniors and to the parents of those of those that are graduating.

Good evening parents and students, this is your Principal David Johnson with this week's upcoming announcements. We will continue with EOC testing this week. The Biology 1 EOC exam will be administered Monday, May 20th promptly starting at 9:00 AM. On Tuesday, May 21st we will administer the Algebra 1 EOC exam promptly starting at 9:00 AM. Makeup EOC exams will be administered for the remainder of the week. These assessments are a crucial milestone in evaluating our students' proficiency in these mandated state tested subject area. Underclassman exams 1st and 3rd period will be Thursday May 23rd & 2nd and 4th period exams will be Friday, May 24th. Seniors be ready for activities this week: Monday-College Decision, Tuesday-Senior Success Walk, Wednesday-Senior Breakfast, Thursday-Senior Awards/CTE Completers Ceremony. We ask that all of our seniors take part in these celebrations! Parents, we wouldn't have the success here at MCHS without your support, so we say thank you for all that you do. The English 2 Reading End-of-Course (EOC) exam will be administered on Monday, May 13, English 2 Writing, Tuesday, May 14, Algebra 1, Wednesday, May 15, U.S. History, Thursday, May 16, Biology 1, Friday, May 17 promptly starting at 9:00 AM. These assessments are a crucial milestone in evaluating our students' proficiency in these mandated state tested subject area. We urge all participating students to be present on time and well-prepared to showcase their knowledge and abilities. Good luck to everyone that will be taking the EOC. Dear Parents & Students
Our district officials and administration would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this time away from school. The issues concerning the underground pipes have been resolved and we will return to school tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24th. In keeping with our district calendar, tomorrow will be an early release day for all Marlboro County schools. Attendance recovery will resume tomorrow for those students that need to make up seat time. Students will be released at 1:30. Greetings MCHS parents and students, this message is to inform you that Tuesday, March 26, all seniors and juniors that did not test last week, will be taking the ACT. Testing will began at 9:00 am. We are asking that you charge your chrome books tonight and to be in the building by 8:30 am. Also Tuesday evening from 5 - 7 pm, we will host senior clearance night. Parents, please come out and meet with the counselors and administration and be updated on your child's graduation status. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, will be an early release day at Marlboro County High School. School will end at 1:30 P.M. Spring break starts March 29th thru April 8th. Good evening parents, staff, and students, this is Principal David Johnson with some upcoming events. There will be a brief senior class meeting in the cafeteria Monday 25th, 1st period at 9:45. The senior class and juniors that did not test last week, will take the ACT on Tuesday, March 26th with the test beginning at 9 am. Parents, Wednesday, March 27th is an early release day. Students will be released at 1:30 pm. Spring break begins Friday, March 29th thru Monday, April 8th. WINN Testing for all Juniors will be Thursday, April 11th and we will have our Academic Awards Program on Friday, April 12th at 9:30 am. Parents you will be receiving a letter pertaining to the school climate survey. This survey is very important and we need all our parents to participate. We truly value your feedback! Students with this being the last 4 days before spring break, our expectations as it relates to attendance, dress code, behavior, and academic performance doesn't change. Administration as well as our teacher will hold you accountable so give us your best. Good luck to all our sports team this week. Good evening MCHS parents, staff, and students, this is Principal David Johnson with a few upcoming announcements. Monday, March 18th, is a teacher workday. Students will return to campus ready to work on Tuesday, March 19th. Administration will have a senior class meeting @ 10:15 during 2nd period with the entire senior class. Our Bulldog Boost Tutoring Program and Attendance Recovery will resume Tuesday, March 19th. The ACT test will be administered to all 11th graders on Wednesday, March 20th during the school day. Parents, Tuesday, March 26th we will host Senior Clearance Night from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Graduation is quickly approaching and parents this the time to meet with our counselors to make sure your student is on track to graduate. All parents, please don't hesitate to reach out to our teachers, and counselors to set up appointments to check on your student's progress in their classes. Students will receive their third quarter report card, a Bulldog Boost Permission Letter, Fall EOCEP Score Report, Fall WIN Score Report and information about the upcoming ACT Test Administration for juniors. Please review this information with your students. All NETC students currently enrolled in the Financial Literacy course are asked to complete the survey on your D2L course platform tomorrow during homeroom. These are all of our announcements. Good evening MCHS parents, staff, and students, this is Principal David Johnson with a few upcoming announcements. Monday begins the 1st day of our final 4th quarter for the school year. Students, it is important that you get off to a good start. Benchmark testing for our EOC subjects will take place throughout this week, Parents, report cards, previous EOC and WINN scores will go home March 14th. We are still have issues with attendance and tardiness. Parents please make sure your child is present at school everyday and if they have valid reason for being out, please submit the documentation to the front office when they return. Our Bulldog Boost afterschool tutoring program will resume Tuesday, March 19th. Lastly the ACT test will be administered to all 11th graders on Wednesday March 20th. Our administration, faculty and staff are working relentlessly to improve the overall academics at the high school. Parents your support and students your cooperation and effort is greatly needed to accomplish our goal of improving our school report card. Thursday, March 7th, there will be a meet & greet for the community to meet our new head football coach, new assistant coaches, and new athletic director. The meet & greet will be at Savor & Flavor (The Old Landmark Restaurant) from 5:30-7:00. Quarter 3 grading period ends Friday, March 8th. Students, make sure all missing assignments and makeup work are submitted by end of school Friday. All 9th graders are participating in map testing. Please make sure your computers are charged for testing. Parents, if you have not met with your child's counselor about their IGP (class schedule) for the 24/25 school year, please call the high school and setup an appointment.
