The second semester is upon us, and I truly believe we have changed the culture and established a strong foundation that we can build upon going into the 2nd semester. We will be returning back to school tomorrow and the expectations are high as it relates to safety, academics, and discipline. Parents, we need our students at school every day on time by 8:30 am ready to learn. All staff and students will enter through metal detectors and only clear bags and cups are allowed in the building. Also, students that arrive after 8:30 am must be signed in by a parent and students that drive and arrive after 8:30 am after being warned by the administration, on campus parking will be revoked. Report Cards will go home on Thursday, January 9th. Teachers and students, we look forward to having you all back in the building tomorrow. Good evening, parents, staff, and students, this is Principal David Johnson with a few important announcements. State EOC testing will take place this entire week. Monday will be the English Writing assessment, Tuesday Reading, Wednesday Algebra 1, Thursday U. S. History, and Friday Biology 1. We need all students at school on time ready to test. Our Bulldog Boost after school program and attendance recovery will run Monday through Thursday this week 3:45 - 5:30. Parents and students, please be reminded that cell phones at 8:30 are to be put away until 3:30. Students, ski masks, durags, toboggans, hats, hoodies, and all other head coverings, aren't allowed to be worn in the building. They must be off as you enter and put away in your bookbag. Also, parents, students that are being dropped off to school after 8:30 must be accompanied and signed in by an adult before they are allowed to attend class. Those students that drive we will be monitoring the parking lots closely so get to school on time. Remember driving to school is a privilege and not at right. Parking passes will be pulled if you arrive to school after the 8:30 bell. The safety of everyone in the building at MCHS will always be our first priority. Our students will receive test strategies and review EOC sample and practice test questions. This will be our final preparation before state testing begins December 9th - 17th. Dear Parents and Guardians, I wanted to take this opportunity to inform you about an incident that occurred on our campus yesterday. A firearm was discovered on school grounds, and we immediately initiated an investigation. While the investigation was ongoing, I want to assure you that our school administration and local authorities have worked diligently to address the situation. In response to this incident, our administration worked well into the night to ensure that appropriate safety measures were in place for today. As a result, we have heightened security protocols in place to ensure the continued safety of all students, faculty, and staff. Please be assured that we are fully committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone in our school community. The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and we will continue to take all necessary actions to uphold this commitment. Please know, that beginning Monday, any students who arrive on campus after 8:30 am must be signed in by a parent/guardian. Our Bulldog Boost after school program and attendance recovery will run Monday through Thursday this week 3:45 - 5:30. Parents, we encourage students that need help to stay and allow our teachers to assist them. Transportation is provided if needed for our after-school tutoring. Saturday, December 7th will be the final EOC blitz session before EOC state testing begins. Parents, we need all student that are taking EOC classes this semester to come that morning 8:30 am - 1:00 pm. No transportation will be provided for Saturday blitz, but breakfast & lunch will be provided. Lastly, the implementation of our district cell phone policy will go into effect Monday, December 2nd. During School: No access to the Internet, Wi-Fi, cellular telephone signals, or to capture images or video. This includes but is not limited to, cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, air pods, smart glasses, gaming devices, etc. Students be sure to keep your electronic devices powered off and in your book bag. Parents, please talk to your child and remind them about the expectation of the district as it relates to cell phones.

This event will consist of SAT/ACT test taking tips, EOC test taking information, bingo for books, and family feud literacy style. Parents, please come out, enjoy refreshments, win prizes, and enjoy our family engagement activities. Also Saturday, November 23rd will be our 1st EOC blitz. Good evening, parents, staff, and students, this is principal David Johnson with a few important updates. Class meetings were held this past Friday informing the students body of the district no cell phone policy during the school day that will begin district wide December 1, 2024. Parents, letters were also mailed to inform you of the no cell phone policy during the school day effective December 1, 2024. We ask that you have conversations with your student to help with this transition. It is a must that we work towards this change to ensure that we eliminate distractions that will hinder our students from learning to their fullest potential. It is imperative that we have a successful academic year and it's going to take this entire community to make it happen. Also, interim reports will be issued to students Wednesday, November 13th. Parents continue to send your child to school daily, students come on time ready to learn daily, and teachers teach our students to the best of your ability. Students will be released at 1:30 pm. We will have our homecoming parade beginning at 4:00pm followed by our football game at 7:30. Please stick around for our 5th quarter band performance immediately following the football game. We have been in close contact with law enforcement, and after a thorough assessment, we believe it is safe for students to return to school. Marlboro County High School will resume its regular schedule tomorrow, September 23, 2024. We understand that many districts across the state are facing similar challenges with various threats. Good evening, parents, staff, and students, this is principal David Johnson with a few important announcements. We are asking that all individuals that enter the building of Marlboro County High School please abide by the safety parameters that have been put in place to ensure that our campus is safe. Everyone that enters the building at the high school is required to go through the metal detectors. All students are required to go through the metal detector with their clear bookbag and then all bags will be searched by staff that are on duty. Drinking cups that are not clear will not be permitted in the building. The administration, faculty, and staff are very proud of the academic accomplishments of our students thus far as well as the awesome job of our athletic teams, cheerleaders, JROTC, and our marching band.
