DECA Washington

Tramont Miles, a senior of Marlboro County High School and Vice President of Hospitality for SC DECA just recently visited Washington, D.C. with other state officers for the Ultimate DECA Power Trip. Tramont experienced workshops such as the “The Ultimate Speaking Challenge” that was designed to help students tackle their fear of public speaking and the “Philanthropic Leadership” to establish stronger leadership skills. While in Washington, Miles also toured multiple Federal buildings and monuments, The US White House, The US Department of Treasury, The Lincoln Memorial and the Martin Luther King Memorial. Miles commented, “This was my first time ever traveling to Washington, D.C. and it was monumental. This trip opened my eyes to endless possibilities and taught me skills that I can use to better myself in both DECA competitions and real-life situations”. DECA is a Marketing association preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. The Marlboro High School chapter has 86 members including student and professional members. If you are interested in knowing more about DECA please visit scdeca.org or deca.org.
