Chamber After Hours

Marlboro County High School DECA chapter partnered with the Marlboro County Chamber of Commerce and hosted “Chamber After Hours” at Marlboro County High School on December 7 from 5:30-7 P.M.  DECA’s focus was to highlight the Career and Technical Education (CATE) programs taught at MCHS. Faculty and students of CATE displayed and demonstrated their curriculums that align with the SC state standards. Cosmetology gave complimentary hand massages and demonstrated makeup and modeling. Agricultural students demonstrated tractor and trailer maneuvers on the lawn, Engineering created 3 D printer samples and others showed student work. DECA students enjoyed the experience of networking with Business professionals as DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Refreshments were served.

The following CATE programs are taught at MCHS: Cosmetology with Ms. Ridges; Business, Marketing and Technology with Mrs. Van Pelt, Ms. Watson, Mrs Littles, Ms Brown, and Mr. Harrington; Automotive Technology with Mr. Miller; Health Science with Mrs. Harrill and Mrs. Shilen, Agricultural Technology with Mr. Hall, Machine Tool and Welding Technology with Mr. Woods, Principles of Engineering with Mr. Johnakin and Culinary Arts with Mr. Campbell.  Mr. Black is the CATE director for MCHS.
