Ultimate DECA Power Trip

Tramont Miles, a senior of Marlboro County High School and Vice President of Hospitality for SC DECA just recently visited Washington, D.C. with other state officers for the Ultimate DECA Power Trip. Tramont experienced workshops such as the “The Ultimate Speaking Challenge” that was designed to help students tackle their fear of public speaking and the “Philanthropic Leadership” to establish stronger leadership skills.   Read more about Ultimate DECA Power Trip

Francis Marion Interview Day 2019

Francis Marion Interview Day was held at Marlboro County High School Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Eighteen seniors completed an application. Two students, Noah Murphy received an acceptance letter and Payton Sellers was accepted into the honors program to receive the most prestigious scholarship, The McNair Scholarship with the opportunity to study aboard.  Read more about Francis Marion Interview Day 2019

On Saturday April 27, 2019, Marlboro County High held its annual Miss MCHS Pageant at the Marlboro County Civic Center. This year’s theme was “Once Upon A Time”. Each contestant’s evening attire was based on a specific fairytale character. Three contestants competed in the categories of casual wear, talent, evening wear, and question & answer. Academic Challenge Team Travels to FMU

On the morning of Saturday, March 23, 2019, the MCHS Academic Challenge Team traveled to Francis Marion University to participate in the Pee Dee Regional Academic Challenge Tournament. Davan Rivers, captain, and Darius Hardison, co-captain received the coveted All-Star Trophy during the awards ceremony. The team underwent five rounds of round-robin style questioning, challenging their intelligence, reflexes, and cooperation skills. Laron Evans wins at FBLA State Conference

Over the weekend of March 23-24, MCHS Future Business Leaders of America members convened at the 2019 State Leadership Conference with 1150 members, advisers, and guests in Charleston, SC. The conference provided the students an opportunity to compete in over sixty academic events as well as attend very informative workshops. Each event requires students to demonstrate and apply their knowledge to real world business scenarios. Black and Gold Concert Band Earns Superior Rating

Marlboro County High School’s Black & Gold Concert Band earned a rating of Superior while participating in the South Carolina’s Band Directors Association (SCBDA) State Music Festival in Loris, SC on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Mrs. Smrithy Mulki Selected to the Prestigious STAR Program

Mrs. Smrithy Mulki, E3 Lead Teacher of Marlboro County High School was chosen by the Palmetto State Teachers Association to participate in the March 2019 STAR (Strategies for Teacher Advancement Renewal) seminar. MCHS Teacher Cadets visit Francis Marion University

On Wednesday, October 24th, 260 Teacher Cadets from 18 high schools from all over the Pee Dee Region spent a day at Francis Marion University learning about education and university life. Schools were placed into groups and spent their day rotating around campus and engaging in various activities. During the course of the day, Teacher Cadets were able to meet with Admissions and the Center of Excellence for Children of Poverty. In addition, they toured campus, which included touring the Smith Center, Rogers Library, and the dorms. After being introduced to the campus, the Teacher Cadets returned to Erving Dining Hall for a buffet, school cheers, and finally culminated in hearing all about education from the current South Carolina Teacher of the Year, Mr. Jeff Maxey.  Read more about MCHS Teacher Cadets visit Francis Marion University

Marlboro County High School DECA chapter attended the South Carolina DECA Fall Leadership at the State Museum on Tuesday, October 16. Students attended three leadership workshops of “How to become a Leader”, “Dress for Success” and “Membership Matters”. Students had to time to network with other DECA members across the state and enjoy the educational benefits of the State Museum. Marlboro County High School hosted the fourth Annual STEM Night Fever Expo at the Gym lobby on April 24th, Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Bulldog Band visits HBCU College Fair and Honda Battle of the Bands

Marlboro County High School Earns Honor Unit with Distinction Status and ranks in the top 15% of Army JROTC units in the nation!

The Marlboro County High School (MCHS) Army JROTC Department stood its formal JROTC Program for accreditation (JPA) inspection on Wednesday November 29, 2017. MCHS Interact Club Attend 2017 Students in Action Fall Leadership Conference

The MCHS Interact Club was selected to attend the “Students in Action 2017 Fall Leadership Conference” at the Lee Foundation Library, Florence on October 12, 2017, Thursday. Students in Action Leadership Conference provides South Carolina high school students with the opportunity to gain valuable life skills, meet new people, and learn to be leaders inside their school and the community. Thirteen hard charging and motivated Marlboro County High School (MCHS) JROTC Bulldog Battalion cadets attended the first cycle of the Fort Jackson JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge event of Camp Carolina from June 4 – 10 2017. Anikka Arroyo, Laqueastia Bridges, and Kalia Thomas all rising seniors and active members of the Marlboro County High School Interact Club were approved by the Rotary Club of Bennettsville to participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award training that will take place at Columbia College on June 23-25, 2017. Marlboro County High School’s Interact Club teacher sponsors participated in the 1st Project Based Learning (PBL) Expo at Francis Marion University on Thursday, April 27th at the Performing Arts Center from five in the afternoon until seven in the evening.
