On Monday, Marlboro County High School (MCHS) announced the hiring of a new Athletic Director and head football coach. Bobby Collins will be the new leader for the Marlboro County Bulldogs.

Academic Challenge Team Travels to FMU

On the morning of Saturday, March 23, 2019, the MCHS Academic Challenge Team traveled to Francis Marion University to participate in the Pee Dee Regional Academic Challenge Tournament. Davan Rivers, captain, and Darius Hardison, co-captain received the coveted All-Star Trophy during the awards ceremony. The team underwent five rounds of round-robin style questioning, challenging their intelligence, reflexes, and cooperation skills. This years’ team, a completely new roster of students, has worked extremely hard and shown tremendous growth from six weeks of competition.

Laron Evans wins at FBLA State Conference

Over the weekend of March 23-24, MCHS Future Business Leaders of America members convened at the 2019 State Leadership Conference with 1150 members, advisers, and guests in Charleston, SC. The conference provided the students an opportunity to compete in over sixty academic events as well as attend very informative workshops. Each event requires students to demonstrate and apply their knowledge to real world business scenarios. Workshop topics provided a wealth of information about leadership, networking, transitioning from FBLA in high school to PBL at the collegiate level.

Concert Band
Black and Gold Concert Band Earns Superior Rating

Marlboro County High School’s Black & Gold Concert Band earned a rating of Superior while participating in the South Carolina’s Band Directors Association (SCBDA) State Music Festival in Loris, SC on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Superior is the highest rating that a group can earn by participating in this event

MCHS DECA students traveled to North Charleston, SC for the DECA Career Conference February 22-24. Congratulations to Tramont Miles for being named the Vice President of Hospitality of SC DECA. He will represent our state through February of 2020.
