The Miss Marlboro County High School Pageant was held on Saturday March 25, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Marlboro Civic Center.  The theme of this year’s pageant was “She’s Going Hollywood Tonight!”  There were 10 contestants competing for the title of Miss Marlboro County High School 2017:  Courtney Allen, Alaina Ellis, Sydney Coleman, Kaitlyn Fowler, Mary Goldberg, Shae Gaymon, Lauren Marcum, Ashanti Quick, Bailey McCall, Shannon Preston.  The pageant was emceed by Mrs. LaTalia Heyward. 

The various categories of Competition were as follows:   Community Service Project, Casual Wear, Formal Wear and Finalists On-Stage Questions.

The winners of the various categories of competition were as follows:

 Miss Congeniality: Alaina Ellis

Miss Photogenic: Courtney Allen

Service Project Winners: Lauren Marcum and Kaitlyn Fowler

Fourth runner up: Courtney Allen

Third runner up: Sydney Coleman

Second runner up: Kaitlyn Fowler

First runner up: Mary Goldberg

On hand for the pageant’s entertainment for the evening were the following talented young men and women:  Kalia Thomas, Markell Brown, Kaylee Shepherd (Miss MCHS 2016), John Davis and Luke Hall

Mrs. Sandra Widejko directed this year’s pageant assisted by Lyn Covington and Madison McQueen. Special thanks is extended to Ms. Karen Lewis, Executive Director of the Marlboro Civic Center, her staff and to all the student backstage and tech volunteers. On behalf of the Marlboro County High School faculty and staff, best wishes for continued success are bestowed on all of the contestants that evening.
